Suzuki Takeo was born in Sendaichi, Japan. He began studying woodblock printing at a young age, and he exhibited his work for the first time in 1936. He was a member of the Kyoto Hanga-in, a group of Japanese woodblock print artists. Active in Shin hanga Shudan. Exibited with Nihon Hanga Kyokai in 1933-1936.
Suzuki Takeo's woodblock prints are known for their delicate brushwork and vibrant colors. He often depicted traditional Japanese landscapes and flowers in his work. His prints are highly sought-after by collectors.
謹作 (きんさく) Kinsaku [carefully printed by] Kyoto Hanga-in Tokyo 京都版画院東京
Sold at Craft Corner Pen-shop Hara Takaraku クラフトコーナーペン原田鹿
There are creases and wrinkles, yellowish due to age but no foxing, a few minor stains, some minor tearing on the lower and upper edges but overall the print is a 7.5 out of 10. No stains or dirt on the print. Any damage can be seen in photos. Considering the rarity, this is a solid condition.
To my knowledge neither the original print or the Showa reproduction were ever on the market.
Enjoy this wonderful example of craftmanship!
